Upon stepping out of the hospital, Isabel flinched in the bright sunlight.

The woman who had asked to be referred to as Green chuckled. "Sorry. Forgot to mention that you suffered a bit of eye damage. You and bright light won't be friends for a while."

Isabel slid Anthony's sunglasses onto the bridge of her nose. "Now you tell me."

Green shrugged. "Hey, better late than never. Guessing by your expression, you want to join the World Tournament."

Isabel jumped back a bit. "Y-yeah . . . actually, I do. It would be the best way to see what this new Team is planning, right?"

Green chuckled. "I knew it. Well, to participate, you'll need to get to the Dragon's Den, and seeing as you don't have a flight-capable Pokemon . . ." she pulled a battered old ball from the small bag that dangled at her hip. "You may want to hold on." Green threw the ball vertically. "Fearow, to the Dragon's Den!"

A reddish light escaped the ball, releasing a fully-grown Normal/Flying type Pokemon. "Fearow!" it cawed.

Draconus and Matriarch clambered up Isabel's legs just as Fearow gripped her shoulders. Green looked down at the hapless teenager with a grin from her spot on Fearow's neck. "You may want to avoid looking down if at all possible."

Now I won't be able to do anything but. Thanks a lot, lady.

It was clear Matriarch wasn't enjoying this, either, but Draconus looked . . . serene. Isabel couldn't quite place why, but flight didn't faze the little golden Fire-type at all.

Oh. Right. Charizard.

---------------------------

Fearow actually flew mercifully low for most of the trip, but Green apparently felt like battling in midair was a good idea, and had Fearow take down a few unlucky Butterfree with Drill Peck.

Upon being confronted about this, Green gave a cheeky grin. "At least I didn't have her use Body Slam. She likes using Body Slam, don't you, girl?"

The Fearow let out an extended "FEEEEEAR!" in response.

Upon landing, Isabel kissed the stone floor- then spit out the horrible taste of dirt. Draconus gave her a look that held "seriously?" to a whole new standard.

Green recalled Fearow, and both trainers entered the cave. A long line of Trainers stood through the entryway, but were quick to let the women pass once Green flashed her classic-design Pokedex.

One of Oak's originals. Who is she?

At the front of the line, Green signed her name on a Tournament roster. It apparently literally was Green Traynor. Below her name was the "3 Pokemon Ante"- 3 Pokemon that were required to be on her team, regardless of any switch-outs for matches. Green apparently favored her Blastoise, Blissey, and Pinsir.

Wait, wait, wait. THREE?

Isabel quickly looked around for a third Pokemon, then simply snatched an Egg from the ground.

The clerk doing signups looked bored. "I'll need your name and 3PA."

Isabel smiled. "Isabel Padilla, sir. I'd like to enter my Charmander, Ralts, and this Egg, please."

The clerk looked bewildered, the flashed a grin. "I get it, making them underestimate you. All your good team members will come out in the battles. Alright, go get 'em, girl!"

Isabel chuckled and saluted. "Aye-aye!"

---------------------------

"Preliminary Match One! As a preliminary, only three Pokemon will be allowed per trainer! Trainer Dolce vs. Trainer Isabel!"

Isabel grinned. This was what she lived for. Battles just let her thrive.

The girl across from Isabel had come to a decision- because her name was announced first, she had to pick first. "Politoed, your time to shine!"

The green frog stood in front of her, and rain poured inside the cave relentlessly. Isabel was one of the few not bothered by the sudden change in weather- even her opponent, who had sent out the Water-type, had not been wearing anything to protect herself from the rain, and had made herself miserable.

Good, give me an advantage from the first second.

"Head out, Mate!" Isabel hollered.

"Ra-alts!" Matriarch chirruped happily.

The referee eyed them both. "Let the match BEGIN!"

"Scald the thing, Politoed!" Dolce called.

A jet of heated water flew directly towards Matriarch, who took it to the arm. A small fire flared up on the Psychic-type. Suddenly, Politoed's body flared up as well.

"Excellent. Use Psychic! End this rain!"

Matriarch nodded, and glowed with psychic energy. Politoed clutched its head and fell to the ground.

"Politoed is unable to battle!"

Dolce grimaced. "You did good, buddy. Go, Ludicolo!"

The green Water-type was replaced by a vaguely pineapple-shaped yellow Water/Grass-type. "Lu-di-COLO!" the new arrival let out as a war cry- right before a small fire flared up on its body.

Isabel smiled. "Matriarch's Synchronize functions a little differently. Forgot to mention that." She acrobatically tumbled to one side. "Psychic!"

One lights show and head-clutching later, Ludicolo went down. "Ludicolo is unable to battle!"

Dolce hung her head. "Come back, buddy." One flash of reddish light later, a blue-and-yellow dog-like Pokemon stood where the Ludicolo had been. "Manectric, you know the drill!"

Before Isabel could issue a command, Dolce pulled back her sleeve to reveal some sort of wristband, and Manectric was engulfed in pink energy. Standing in its place was a slightly different blue-and-yellow dog-like Pokemon.

"Thunder!"

Matriarch took the brunt of the blow like a champ, but it was obvious another hit like that would take her down. "Mate! Hang in there! Use-"

Matriarch stood tall. "RALTS!" A silvery sheen engulfed the tiny Pokemon, and the electric-type went to the floor. It quickly stood back up, but still . . . and then Matriarch's burn got to it, and it slumped over.

What the hell was that?

Manectric got shakily to its feet. "Thunder Fang!" Dolce called in desperation.

"Use Return." Isabel ordered, unwavering.

Ralts's teal dome met Manectric's jaw, and both Pokemon landed in a heap. Matriarch shakily got to her feet, Manectric . . . didn't.

"Manectric is unable to battle. Isabel is the winner!"

Apparently, it wasn't over just yet. A white light surrounded Matriarch, and music appeared to come from absolutely nowhere. Suddenly, Matriarch looked . . . different.

"Kirlia!" Matriarch proclaimed proudly.

Isabel held Matriarch high, she couldn't believe her joy- and someone in the crowd glared at her.

Isabel swore he looked familiar, but she couldn't quite . . .

"Hey. Great moves out there," Dolce complimented. "But I wanna tell you something: you beat me, so now you gotta win. We got that clear?"

Isabel nodded, the weird man in the crowd pushed to the back of her mind. "I plan to."

Draconus leaped up. "Char! Char!"

Isabel grinned. "Alright, alright! let's go get some lunch."

With that, the trio walked off, their unborn ally in tow. Isabel looked up at one of the monitors installed in the walls, and it displayed the four matches taking place on the fields:

Trainer Green / Blastoise, Blissey, Pinsir VS Trainer Lexa / Vaporeon, Carbink, Hydreigon

Leader Sabrina / Alakazam, Hypno, Exeggutor VS Leader Clemont / Dedenne, Emolga, Raichu

Champion Red / Pikachu, Venusaur, Snorlax VS Champion Brendan / Sceptile, Zangoose, Claydol

Trainer Tobias / Darkrai, Latios, Registeel VS Wanderer / Absol, Eevee, Weezing
Fresh off the presses, after a massive wait, we have a new piece of the adventures of Isabel!
Are you excited?

I know I am, and the person who requested this chapter, ~MrCoolDD is, also!

Now, I know, having her receive an Egg in Johto of all places isn't exactly original, but it does beg the question of what it is.
A question I won't be answering for a while. Ya-hah!

Oh, by the way:
Having Red as a "credit thief" is an idea that has been circling my head for a long while. Basically, in "Travel Chronicles" canon, both the male and female protagonists existed- however, one became Champion, and the other did most of the work taking down the psychotic Team of the game. I kinda just flipped a coin, but I added in some reasoning in each case if you'd like to hear it. Here's how it's set up:

R/B/G/Y- Red became Champion, Green (think Leaf in FR/LG) did most of the work fighting Team Rocket. [Reasoning: You couldn't even play as Green/Leaf until the remakes, which I have taken to mean the populace at large didn't know she existed at all.]

G/S/C- Gold/Ethan became Champion, Crystal/Lyra did most of the work fighting Team Rocket. [Reasoning: Similar to the Red example above, you couldn't choose to be female until the third version was released, which I take to mean that most people forgot about her.]

R/S/E- Brendan became Champion (and went through the events of Ruby), May did not (and went through the events of Sapphire). [Reasoning: From what I've seen of the Adventures manga, Brendan is counted as Ruby, May as Sapphire. That's what started the split, but {can't believe I'm citing anime preference as evidence} in the anime, May had a Torchic. This would leave Brendan with either Treecko or Mudkip, and because I like to avoid memes, nobody apparently liked Mudkip in this canon. Because May has the starter with type advantage, she was the rival and, by logic of the series, lost.]

D/P/Pt- Dawn became Champion, Lucas did most of the work fighting Team Galactic. [Reasoning: Personally, due to Dawn's popularity, I didn't even see Lucas's design until quite recently, and it took even longer to find out his name. By the by, partially because of the anime and partially because protagonist/rival logic, Dawn started with Piplup, Lucas with Turtwig.]

B/W/B2/W2- Like I know [Okay, this may seem very, very mean, but I have absolutely no clue who the protagonists of Generation 5 are, I've sorta seen designs, but apparently there are four different player characters, so I'm straight-up going to let someone who has played Gen 5 figure that one out for me.]

X/Y- Serena became Champion, Calem did most of the work against Team Flare. [Reasoning: This is the ultimate culmination. Anime logic- I've noticed that Ash always has the male protagonist's starter on every other occasion, and because artwork I've seen for the Kalos portion of the anime features Serena with a Fennekin and Ash with a Froakie, this technically makes him/ his stand-in the rival. Plus, Greninja and Delphox are cool. Memorability- I've seen more fanart that features Serena being used as the player character than Calem {I could just be in the wrong portion of the fanbase, but I call what I see (plus, this makes Shauna's awkward romance with the PC even harder to explain to an outsider, which is lulzy)}, which technically means she has more fame, because she became Champion {This is how my head-canon works}. Personal Experience- I don't know if the game is written like this or I caught an odd randomizer, but the default option when I started up Pokemon X was to play as a female.]

Hilbert, and Hilda For Gen V 1st set but the second are Nate and Rosa. You know me too well I will help you with gen V.
Hilbert (who caught Zekrom, technically) was Champion the first time, with an Oshawott, and Hilda (Who would have caught the Weather Trio) got the Snivy and defeated Team Plasma the first time.

The second time, Rosa (Who would've caught Meloetta) became Champion with a Snivy, and Nate (who caught White Kyurem and the Justice Trio) defeated Team Plasma the second time with his Tepig.

By your logic, the legendaries caught would look like this:
Red caught Moltres and Mewtwo, Green caught Zapdos.
Ethan caught Ho-oh, Lyra caught Lugia and Celebi.
Brendan caught Groudon, Latios, and the Golem Trio, May caught Kyogre, Latias, and Deoxys.
Dawn has Palkia
